Yoichi Todo, a humble factory worker, got killed in a truck accident along with another young man. A woman claiming to be the Administrator appears before them, in a pure white space that seems to be the afterlife. Just as he was expecting that he and the young man would be given cheat abilities and be reborn in a fantasy world of swords and magic… he is told that he wasn't supposed to be caught up in the accident. But as a result of his complaints, Yoichi is given the special powers of Appraisal, Infinite Storage, Language Understanding, and Return, before he is sent on to his next life. He wakes up with high hopes of escaping from his past life as a working stiff and start enjoying the freedom of life in another world.
